Visit Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest peak and the country's most famous landmark. Spend the evening in the historical mountain resort area of Hakone before travelling to Takayama, known as “Little Kyoto”, and its preserved historical structures and environment.
Mingle with the locals at the thatched roofed village of Shirakawago, a World Heritage site.
Experience the making of washi, Japanese paper, at Gokayama, and then visit Kanagawa, home of Kenroku Garden, one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Admire the ceramics at Kutaniyaki.
Tour finishes in Kyoto.

Itinerary:
Day1: Tokyo - Mt.Fuji - Hakone
Depart Tokyo by deluxe coach to the foot of Mt.Fuji via expressway. Then drive halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular view from a height of 2,300 meters.
After lunch, proceed to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi (Ashinoko Yuransen) and ride the Mt. Komagatake Ropeway.
Day2: Hakone - Takayama
In the morning, drive to Odawara and board a Shinkansen for Nagoya. Transfer to a limited-express for Takayama, an ancient, tranquil city called "Little Kyoto".
In the afternoon, stroll through Takayama, visiting Yatai Kaikan Hall, where colourfully decorated traditional festival floats are displayed. Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants under government patronage, and the streets of Kami Sannomachi, which preserve traditional Japanese wooden houses.
Day3: Takayama - Shirakawago - Kanazawa
Visit the famous morning market of Takayama before a scenic drive by Lake Miboro and along Shokawa River to Shirakawago, designated in 1995 as a World Heritage site. Its highlights are unique structures called Gassho-Zukuri, steep thached roof farmhouses.
Next visit Gokayama, another World Heritage village, where you can experience making Gokayama Washi, traditional Japanese paper.
Continue to Kanazawa.
Day 4: Kanazawa - Kyoto
Morning sightseeing in Kanazawa, visiting Kenrokuen Garden, Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln, Higashi-chaya Street and Former Guest House “Shima”.
In the afternoon travel to Kyoto arriving between 4.30 and 5.30pm.
No accommodation is provided in Kyoto on this tour.
LUGGAGE
One piece of luggage will be transported by truck from Hakone to Kyoto (a surcharge applies for additional pieces of luggage). For the accommodation in Takayama and Kanazawa we recommend you carry a light overnight bag.
