Japan Rail Pass
You will save time and money by purchasing a Japan Rail Pass before you leave home. Japan has one of the worlds most extensive and efficient railway networks, with clean and comfortable trains (including the super-fast bullet trains). Sit back, relax and enjoy Japan as you glide across the country.
Avaliable only to foreign travellers visiting Japan.You must have "temporary visitor" visa under the status of Japanese immigration law. Rail passes are not avaliable for people travelling on working holiday or student visas.
The passes must be purchased before you arrive in Japan. They are not sold in Japan.
There are 5 types of Japan Rail Pass
Each of the five different passes cover different areas of Japan.
The Japan railpass is the only one to cover the whole country.

Train Tickets
JTB is also able to arrange sector fares for rail travel around Japan. Train tickets go on sale one month prior to intended travel. There is a $55.00 booking fee per person for train sector fares. Tickets are issued in Japan and delivered to your accommodation prior to travel (they cannot be collected at the airport.)
